Nice little read on Intakes

Old old article that is good but one has to understand that the comparo is only good to a point and that would be for THAT engine combo only which is pretty stout at 12.5-1 & a cam @ .050 of 260.

They test many intakes including ones that have no biz on that engine. There is also another article that shows a much more mello engine combo. Again, as I said above, some intake have no biz on that engine.

The good thing about the test that includes intake way out of there performance range is that it shows just that. Wrong intake on the wrong combo gives up serious HP and torque. Which IMO is also part of the write up to show how to do and what not to do.

What I did like was how well the factory 4bbl. And the Edelbrock did despite being what they are.
I love how the M1 and Holley Street Dominator did so well. Most people balk at these intakes. There is a big 60HP differance between the dual and single planes on the above mentioned.
Still, running what you got proves to be OK sometimes. As long as your not racing for the money so to speak.

There is much to learn from this. More than what the surface reports. Remember FABO people, combo, combo, combo dependent!
