6.2 hellcat crate motor

Me thinks 340stroked is a troll. Don't feed the troll.

No amount of logic or reasoning will convince him. The reality is that in many ways the Gen III Hemi is the pinnacle of two valve motors.

By every conceivable way a stock 5.7L Hemi is superior to a 340. A stock 340 was rated at 275 HP (yes some argue they were underrated so go ahead and say 330 HP). Even at 330 HP this was a gross rating. Today's 5.7L Hemi puts out 390 HP NET. The Hemi has been awarded Wards Ten Best a total of 3 times, in 2003, 2007, and 2010.

Bolting a stock 2010 5.7L Hemi would kick the snot out of a 340. It would kick the snot out of a 340 six pack motor.

Let's Compare:

HP - Hemi wins
Torque - Hemi wins
Reliability - Hemi wins
Weight - The Hemi is approximately 60 Lbs less than a 340.
Emissions - Hemi wins, modern engines put out less than 1% that of a 60s era motor.
Fuel Economy - Hemi wins 20+ has been reported in 5000 LB trucks
