I have a stock 4 spd shifter from a 70 Duster with bucket seats, would like to use it in a Duster with a bench seat. Will it work?

The shifter mechanism or the handle?

I had a 3 speed in mine and I know the handle is bent differently (bends forward then back) so that it won't hit the bench seat. I guessing the handle may be similar for 3 speed or 4 speed bench seat applications.

The shifter mechanism (Hurst) shoudl be the same though.

Sorry should have elaborated more, mainly talking about the shape of the chrome stick.

Thanks for the link, good info. Still not sure though, mostly touched on console shifters.

I think Joey is correct. My bucket handle is straight. The bench ones are bent up a bit between the ball and the "HURST". Probably so it doesn't hit someone sitting in the middle of the bench. My shifter below.
