I made one from 1/2" threaded rod from the hardware store, nuts and washers, a few pipe fittings, short exhaust extensions, etc. Used that junk to both remove and replace the UCA bushings. I have pictures somewhere of me sitting on the driveway holding the control arm with my Top-Siders and turning the box wrench and 1/2" ratchet wrench.

Great minds think alike. See above.

Thanks guys for the inspiration.. Im going to attempt to make one myself.

I assume that the larger OD pipe pushes against the control arm, while the washers pull the bushing out or in?

I use a cheater bar with a vise and some assorted sockets/pipe to press them in and out. Works great.

Correct. If you have a stepped side bushing driver it will grab the old shell. Certainly not required though. Good thing about this vs a press is do one side at a time and no way you will distort the arm.

X2. I just stuck them in a big vise with appropriate sized pipe and squeezed em in one side at a time. Was a whole lot easier than i expected.

Wish I had a vise big enough. I just have a small bench vise. Otherwise I can see that working very well.
