I am finishing the install of a 318 with a 904 tranny. Number one is that the cable I went to is too long and had to modify so that my 4 barrels would open . I need to find the right one .
#2 is that I have a single bar kick down for the 904 , but something doesn't seem right , maybe the travel . is it suppost to be a three piece set up, or do i need to work with it some more....Thoughts??

Thanks Dan

Well no one came? 66 Barracuda uses 3 piece kick down with 273 and 904. When change from 2-4 barrel then must extend upper rod at carburetor by about 1 1/2 inches, it helps if it is adjustable. Cable location only changes where it attaches to the carburetor. What are you working on?

the cable I was referring to was for the throttle the travel was to short, but I have fixed that for now. My big concern is the kickdown, I now the bar is too short right now, I will be looking for a better set up at the swap meet in Waukesha wi this weekend. the question I don't know is the one bar setup is right ,or if the three bar is right.
thanks for helping

to answer your question I have a Edlebrock 4 barrel and the bar being to short is the one with the slider from the kickdown. sorry typing too fast

On the upper rod, adjust to the middle of the adjustment. Cut the upper rod and measure to what the best length would be. Weld some rod to come to that correct length and recheck if your measurements were correct, you should always have some adjustment left.

On 65 Corornet it used a one piece kick down linkage, big block 727. It will need the welding when it is ready. 4 barrel conversion and minor high rise intake.

Bouchillon Performance makes a really good cable kick down kit for torqueflite trannys.
Have one on a 318 with edelbrock carb and 904 transmission. Easy to install, easy to adjust, and works great. Takes the hassle out of kickdown linkages! Check out their website.

Same here, 65 Dart
