Dumping the exhaust behind the rear axle?

first of all , you can dump the exhaust out before the axle without shooting the heat directly at the axle and without dumping it on the ground and spraying dirt everywhere. there ARE more than 2 angles that can direct the pressure. second, if you have good door , trunk seals and any random holes sealed up , you are not going to get the fumes 90% of the time. third, if you get good mufflers, its not even going to be THAT loud. I have ran a ton of cars this way and I have never had an issue, and im not a fan of loud obnoxious sounding cars unless im at a track.

My experience as well, you can always end it before the axle and if you don't like it just take a trip to the muffler shop and add tailpipes. You just have to try things for yourself and decide. Funny story, back in the day I ran a pretty potent small block duster on the street with 3" flowmasters, no dumps, just ending at axle. One night I got stopped and received a warning for no tailpipes. I had some short dumps made and hung them below the rear bumper so it looked like I had tailpipes to please the cops. I even had someone tell me the car sounded better with the new tailpipes!
