What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
Just had the Dart up on jacks to check out the speedo cable. Speedometer has not work since I've had the car.
Turns out the cable is corroded and rusty, and will not turn at all. No wonder it was never hooked up.

Guess I gotta buy a new cable.

Working on removing the torsion bar adjusters had one pull the threads out what a pita.
When I went to adjust the first one heard a snap the bolt pulled the threads out of the adjuster nut or plate.

That sounds like it's got a huge suck factor..

Putting a wire protector around my starter wires so I can start my car more than once after installing the headers!

Got the ignition switch, fusible link and column back in the 72 Swinger. Broke the plastic turn signal cam and had to replace it too. Anyway the car is running again and now I have to figure out the oil consumption issue.

Took the Dart out of the bag end of March to work on it before cruisin starts. Change radio speaker out for a better one, led's in rear tail lights, led's in dash, had shop put the original pig back in the rear end now everything is original in the drive train, switched regular 80W90 out of trans for synthetic and took out rear seat to install screw in the rear of top side window trim that's probably been missing since it was made. While I had the seat out removed trim panels and rust proofed inside of body. Next on the list is replace engine bay fuel line with stainless steeil line, stainless steel lines from master to distribution block, do rear brakes and locate/purchase led lamps for front fender mounted turn signal indicators.

I will change my oil & filter and wash the car if I can ever bring it home from storage. Right now it's 37 degrees and a mixture of rain/sleet/snow in Milwaukee.

Trying to Figure out why my temp gauge peaks to the far right during warm up but then regulates itself at regular idle...same goes for the gas gauge. Probably something to do with the alternator making weird noises? Time to grab the volt meter. :banghead:

Replaced the sparkplugtube seals so its fresh when My plugs arrive tomorrow. Also got a package with some new ignitionparts and filters. But thats tomorrows work

Race car is coming out of the trailer and into the shed for an oil change, and a little exterior cleaning.

Wife was happy to spend aome $$ on car so who was i to disagree. Up graded the brakes today still need to go down and get the park brake cables shortened so I can stay with the original cables. Can't see the point of paying 150 plus for their setup when what's on the car will work with a small adjustment. Will also give me something to do on monday.

Body work, body work, body work. So much body work. Working out the low and high spots on my fender, then it was on to light coat of body filler and then lots of sanding. A past owner just filled it with about an inch of bondo. Loving it

Wanted Tom on of cruises nn a MikeLinnings but worked in the yard & barn all day so just moved it from the barn to house and back.

Maybe someday I can actually drive it out the driveway

I did drive it to a cruise in last Friday for an hour or so 3 miles from the house.

I just installed the passenger door glass that I bought from VDART a year ago. I'm about to slide the Dana out, fab up a couple brackets and weld them on.
