My sack of lemons....

Great job on the engine compartment, it really cleaned up well. I guess I'm going to have to take a look at my 6.4 and see if I have a similar port. Did you pressure prime the engine or roll it over cold to get oil pressure and then fire it? Do you really think you need the cross strut member? I would think it was stiff enough as it is.

Thanks, I had the engine upside down before I put the pan on and filled the pickup tube with oil, then installed pan and rotated it back upright and immediately filled it with a gallon of oil. When I put it in the car I just cranked it over with gauge hooked up and that is when I discovered the unplugged sender port. After that was plugged it cranked for maybe 4 seconds and the gauge hit 60 lbs. I am confident that was satisfactory. Also with the Melling 10342 Select pump, this thing so far has been reading 60 lbs from start up to shut down no matter what rpm or temp up to 207 degrees. I couldn't be happier after all the hurdles, this thing is ready to break hearts, just need more hours in the day....
