Evening gents

Hello.

Bit of a giveaway posting in here, but this is my first post to say hello, and to introduce myself politely (like a good Brit does) before I ask any questions. I'm building a bit of an odd one..it's a 1959 Bristol 406 which i'm putting a 360 in. That wonderful motor is all new to me, so I'm learning fast. At the minute it's in my garage with the heads off, waiting for a full strip down.
Originally my Bristol would have had a straight 6 BMW engine in, but the car came without one..it came without virtually everything actually, that was the only way i could afford it…I have a bare aluminium shell and now a 360 with a 727. Those engines are obviously common as muck where you lot are, but as rare as hen's teeth here..The Bristol 407 used a mopar 318a (not LA), and I've always wanted a v8, so a 360 it is. Seems like a good plan.
I have a lot to learn about the engine, but I'm getting there…I can't put more than 300hp through the back axle so I'm going to be going for a super smooth, torquey build. I intend to bare metal my Bristol and poodle around Cornwall in it when done. I'm in no rush, the build is my respite from everything else. I must say that this site is amazing..I've learned so much in the last couple of days. I just wish I could get parts as cheaply and as easily as you guys…postage to here is a killer. Cheers. Dave.
