Brake pads and clips?

AS long as both pads are tight between the stops,so they dont rattle, all is good. And to tell the truth I dont mind a little rattle. It tells me seal-retraction is working. Now, squealing, or screaming; that Im not interested in.
I know at least two guys have touched on this, but, sometimes the outer pad has to be taken out, and over to the bench to have that folded-over part lengthened by stretching it with the ball-end of a ball-peen hammer, and then to be re-fitted between the stops. All this to prevent rattle, and the possibility of screaming. This is in addition to folding over the top clamps/tabs.
