67 barracuda fb redo

-
Sorry guys for the late update. Shop has been full and my treatments leave me less than energetic for a bit. I got the rear window regulator from Physixx and it was awsome. Better than was on my car by a ton! Thanks a ton!!! Installed in minutes. Then proceded to weld and grind the rear quarter and rear valance to quarter seams. Then I put a rough coat of kitty hair on it and sanded it to rough form. A coat of z-grip filler was next. Hope to smooth that out soon and get the glaze coat on. Im still working on getting a new camera so be patient.

I give up. I cant afford any over priced parts anymore. My shop is suffering badly from cancelled projects and higher insurance and the fact that Im taxed everytime I turn around. I would write on average 8 estimates a week and would get 3 of them in the shop. Now I write about 4 and get 3 a month but have most cancelled due to no funds. Our hobby is under attack and being killed a little bit everyday.
Anyone wants the car can have it for $1000.00 firm.

NO NO NO NO NO!!! Dang it! I know you need to be practical and all, but I hate to think of you having to dump the car. I truly empathize with your position. The rate of small business failure is pretty high and government seems to be one of the biggest stumbling blocks to their survival. $1000 is not a lot of money. Every little bit helps when you're struggling to make ends meet though. One of my buddies that does restoration work has managed to stay busy but he sees more and more cancellations all the time due to the lousy economy. I hope that somehow things can still turn around for you.

Wow, I'm sorry things are going wrong you were buzzing right along. I hope it turns arond and you don't have to sell.

Car is in Buffalo Lake MN. 55314. About 2 hrs from you if I remember right.

Wow sorry to hear this. I really been enjoying all these Cuda FB threads as mine has stalled again! Been having a lot of back and neck pain. I hope things turn around for you. Thanks for sharing your build with us.

Damn this sucks. I was wondering where you were. I understand your predicament and I really hope things come around so you can keep the car, despite our outrageously expensive shopping lists! Good luck Bud!

Thanks for all the responses. I didnt realize how many people were following along. I love this car a ton! After I showed my wife the responses we had a long conversation. Between my treatments and the shop being short on work it has been hard to afford the expensive parts I need to do the car right. Im finishing up a 1970 Chevy C20 pick up this week. Then the barracuda will be loaded up and brought to the shop where the real work can begin. I really enjoy the comments and the kind words from all of you and thats what keeps me motivated. Wish it could be done for mopar in the park. But hopefully if you guys are there you would welcome me in for a visit. Thanks to all! You guys are AWSOME!

I may not always post comments but I have been following your progress. Given the amount of work that needed to be done I was skeptical about whether or not you'd be able to meet your mid-summer deadline for completion. It sounded like a frantic pace to me. My heart sank when you started thinking about giving up on it. These little 'Cudas are pretty neat.

I am going to Mopars in the Park. Will be wearing my FABO shirt too! My Cuda won't be there but the Viper prolly will be. The Cuda has way too much work needed before presentation.... :glasses7:

I was just up at Daves at classic junkyard and he just got one in, the body is shot but the interior and a ton of parts are great 273 w/pushbutton trans. Here is his link you can drop my name. He stripshttp://www.classicjunkyard.com/ and lists them fast so shoot him an e-mail.

never , never , give up !!

I have been watching your thread too! Please don't give up I enjoy seeing your progress and hear what you are going to do next. Hang in there man. I'm pullin' for ya!

With my renewed enthusiasm for the car thanks to all of you I found more time to get on the car. Started to get more parts into bare metal and Nason sealer. Did the drivers door and drivers front fender. Pics came out blurry so my wife is picking up a new camera today. Post them tonight.

The new plan for the car is to keep the interior and exterior the same as stock including the bench seat and column shift. Will be trying a new way to mini tub so as to keep the back seat and interior. And it will be the same HH1 whit exterior. I will be adding cragar SS wheels . 15x4 and 15x10s. A rear wing like SNKBITE and will make a front spoiler. Formula s hood will be modified to have a fabricated steel hemi scoop by using the factory louvers on top.

It will have a 5.7L hemi and a 727 transmission. I will be taking off the dual carb intake and building a crossram for it. And a fast ignition.

Suspension will be a new 2x3 front frame tied into the rear frame with a mustang II setup. And the rear suspension will be ladder bars and coilover shocks.

Hope this gives you a mental pic of the car. I want it looking like a early 70s street machine but more modern under it. With a few more small mods as project moves forward.

Good to hear. It sounds like you have a solid plan laid out. The "new" mini tub will be interesting. I have considered tubbing but also don't want the hassle of changing the rear seating. Hopefully you are onto something here.

This is the link to the video of my motor. It was originly in my brothers 1994 lebaron convertible.

Few new pics. As stated before I sold my fiberglass frontend to OUTLAW so Im was left without front fenders. I purchased a pair from a member here from south central WIS. They are rough and need work but they exist and at $100 for the pair it was hard to pass up. The lower patch panels were installed before he got them and I may have to redo them or get new ones.
Should be on the spit in 2 weeks. Sorry shed is a mess. Just a catch all shed fIm using till I can get it to my shop.

Previous fender pics show the previous bad repairs. Not my work. It will be corrected by me.
