I know plaschy but that is Sweden!!!!
Today I'm preparing for the final paint on the frames where the roller was placed. After that the right rear Wheel well moulding will be mounted´. Then the car is ready for shipping!
It's gonna be strange to go to the shop and it's empty!! But there are more projects.......

Tags, paint splots and signalhorn switch was done today and now everything works properly.
But I also added the special "one-off" wheel for the trip! These wheels reminds me of a movie long ago. Like Batman or something! But these wheels are to connect straps to tight down the car to the container. That will make the wheels stand still. Then the body can flex depending on transport conditions.

Good idea on the wheels Ulf, plus I'm sure straps to the frame or suspension parts would only cause damage to your paint. Car looks amazing and I hope it makes it here safe and I'll do my best to make it to the Nats to see it :glasses7:

Does the salty ocean air cause any problems like corrosion or is the container sealed good and car wrapped up nice?
Also is it shipped with a full fuel tank so that moisture does not collect there.
I doubt it - when I shipped my car from Calif to Guam they drained all the gas out. However when I shipped a diesel truck back, wasn't required to drain the diesel. Guess that was because of flamability.
Well, honestly I don't think it will be a problem. I will have a moisture collector inside the car. (Not sure of the name) for safety reasons! Keith! I really hope to see you at the Nats after all these years.

Don! You are so right. The car must be dried on fuel before loading. I will electrically pump out all the gas before closing the doors!
The Monroney Label (named for the U.S. Senator who spearheaded getting these labels on the car) is meant to show consumers The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP), Engine and transmission specifications, Standard equipment and warranty details, Optional equipment and pricing, City and highway fuel economy ratings, as determined by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), As of September 2007, crash test ratings as determined by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration
Placement of the label was also specified: The Monroney sticker is required to be affixed to the side window or windshield of every new car sold in the United States and can only be removed by the consumer (Chapter 28, Sections 1231-1233, Title 15 of the United States Code). A fine of up to US$1,000 per vehicle for each offense is authorized if the sticker is missing, and other fees and penalties are authorized if the sticker is altered illegally (including imprisonment)
If Ulf is going to show/drive the car with the label attached to the car, the least hazardous location is the left quarter window, assuming the label will fit.

Hate to be a killjoy but see to it that you get a container that is in good shape and use a LOT of moisture collector! A friend of mine got a 70 Challenger shipped to Finland, it is a full nut and bolt resto using mostly NOS parts. Opening the container was a shock. The car had mold everywhere in the interior and all natural parts had a thick coat of rust. The moisture collectors could not handle it all. He is still dealing with that stuff a couple of years later. It's a nightmare.
I am sure a lot has to do with the placement of the container, the condition of the door seals as well as the weather. Even if it is likely to go well do make every possible pre-caution possible! I'd hate to see that car get damaged in transit...good luck!
Thanks or the input. From buying cars from US to Sweden I know there can be a problem with moisture. However this is a better time compare to winter with warm weather in California and cold weather in Sweden. However I will get 4 moisture collector inside the car and one in the trunk. I hope that will help.
From bed sheets I have sewn my own car cover in 100% cotton which I plan to put on the car. I wouldn't bragg about it but it will do the job for dust and hopeully moisture as well!
Tonight I did the 4 rivets for the ashtray. With help from my buddy Johan I'm ready to hit the hammer. Hopeully we can close the ashtray on Saturday!
Working on the rivets for the ash tray paid off. 2 hours and the rivets were done. My friend Johan helped me to punsch the rivets while I hold it so I could do the last adjustments. With the NOS front it looks great.
Re the VIN plate I have that in place too. I did not choose the spot welder. I simply could not find one here in Sweden small enought to do the job.

The windshield washer pump didn't start today. First of all I found out that the factory wiring harness does not have the cable for the windshield washer pump. Since it was an option they just added the cable when someone ordered the windshield washer package. After mounting the wire I found out that the pump was stuck. Since it is an NOS pump I added some easy grease to get the thing going. Seems like Chrysler added some kind of protection for the pump.It was blue in color.

I did put all the paperwork together. I found a very nice owners manual cover. Then I found out that the repop them fror Chebbys. How about Mopars? I haven't heard of it.
Finally the day when it allends here in Sweden! The container arrived with a SIMA loader. Very practically and smooth.
My oldest son did a ramp of sand and with help from the local newspaper photographer we pushed the car into the container. We had to push due to no gas and the battery disconnected.
BTW, the container smelled Taco Bell inside!!!

Does it cause a little apprehension locking that baby in a cold steel box, not to be seen again until the end of a 4,000 mile sea trip?
I must admit that it was a strange feeling loading up the car into the container! After 4500 hours it's like a member to the family. At the same time it felt like a relief to ship it. Now there's only the judgement left! Then I can start using it!
My buddy Joakim sent me a picture. He claims that the insurance company called me....!! LOL
But no worries, the container hasn't been loaded yet! But it would be a night mare!

Just want to say car is amazing I have my uncles 65 dart gt and was wondering where you found the front center hood ornament mine is cracking a little you installed it on page 89 heard you will b at mopar nationals this year cant wait to see it in person thanks mine has been the only one there for years it will b nice to have another one there especially the charger option never thought id see one in person

THe hood ornament was found at Chrysler at CArlisle last year. I was able to find the Dodge name script on the hood on Mopar Nats in 2009. However I have seen the Dodge script on eBay every once in a while.
Youmight try Laysons, Valley Vintage, Brad's NOS, Arizona Parts and Mitchell. They might have it on the shelf!

Or you might not. For Layson-type money, you can get the emblem reproduced in America (or if you want to spend less money and have more time and patience, this Australian outfit does fantastic work) and then it's available to everyone.
FYI I found my NOS hood center emblem and the DODGE emblem on eBay maybe 10 years ago. Also found a 2nd DODGE emblem a few years later. I must have sold the 2nd emblem as it's not in my NOS-repro- used wagon parts.
