:thumblef:I'd go with a gloss black stripe, hood scoops, and '70 style V21 hood/cowl treatment.:thumbrig:

Hey Larry...would def not go white with the dark green top and paint. I believe a gloss black would work pretty well and not be over stating. Pretty classy imho. Argent would be my second choice just because it's a heck of a contrast to such a dark body color. It's a beautiful car and your paint looks awesome. I'd seriously consider going with no stripe too. Very nice.
I have a painted '68 white stripe with a white top and interior on my '67 and sometimes wish I would have run it without one for a while to see if I just wanted to leave it that way.
Whatever you decide it's gonn look great.

Thanks 67artgtgo, I have owned this car or 26 years, it was my first car. I used to drive it everyday, I started restoring it a bout 8 year ago. It has come along way in the last coupe years. I may post some pictures of the car when I bought it in 1989, If I can find them. Thanks for all the nice comments.

Mask off a simulated stripe with black paper, white paper, silver paper and so on. Then get a better idea of the side view!
Great idea.
If you did not have the black roof, you would have more color coordinated options. Ask a few women that are good at picking colors.
With the rest of the car...black is your best choice IMO

Sweet. Don't let go of it...

I say Black. but that silver would probably look Really sharp also, and I would definetly paint the hood / scoops and cowl black

it needs that stripe to make that "not so mean": REAR pop ! ! !

YES ... stripe

id say black to match the black top.

or

red to match the red stripe tires and red quarter lights. never mind on the red. maybe too much...

i wouldnt do white.

but idk that is a tricky choice/.

I like the idea of an F8 dark green stripe if you were going to paint it - to match the dark green top (which is close to black). If you go with tape stripes, I bet Phoenix Graphics could do the stock stripe in a dark green material - this would be a semi-gloss finish, which would make it more visible on the car. One of the coolest stripes I ever saw was a glossy black Cuda with non-gloss billboards.

Maintain the dark theme. Better if you could get the stripe to match the vinyl top color. If the hood is painted black even better with the black stripe. Could redo the top in black instead of the dark green or redo the top in white than a white stripe would look best.
use colored paper and tape to the car for a visual trial look.

one thing is for sure though lets get a bigger offset wheels in the rear - take them from GRANNY looking to a MANS looking car.

sorry - just looks weird to me to see nice cars with skinny tires in the rear i know some of you like to maintain STOCK features.

With that black vinyl top I think that a black stripe would be most appropriate. If you had a white vinyl, I'd go white. The green is pretty dark so a black stripe won't show up very well. If your hood was black though then it might carry the whole black/green better throughout the car.

Here is a better photo, it shows the colors better.

His top isn't Black!!! Its GREEN. :banghead: Peeps gotta read. lol.

Anyway I'd vote Argent all the way.

Oops! missed that. In that case, I'd probably custom mix Argent with a greenish tint so it would tie in.

Just some food for thought, if you are using vinyl stripes, the silver will not wear as well as the other colors. In any brand of vinyl, silver always has the lowest wear rating. the top of the line 3M only has a 4 year rating in silver. Oracal is slightly better at 5 years. But with any of the materials, no manufacturer warranties silver when used on a horizontal surface (such as your deck lid).

I just feel like the black will get lost in the green. I was leaning toward silver until I read Challengergary's last post. I still don know.
