71 dart Instrument Cluster removal HELP

I'm removing the dash cluster from my 71 dart.
So far
1. seats are out
2. Column dropped
3. wiring removed from the back of the cluster
4. Speedo cable removed
5.Nothing binding
6. Light switch removed

This unit will not tilt forward enough wiggle threw the opening in the dash. Am I missing something here? very frustrated. HELP
 
There is a section of the instrument cluster itself that drops below the metal part of the dash right behind the steering column. You should be able to rotate the unit toward you (from in front of the dash) pulling the top of the face plate down like you want the instruments to face the floor of the car and it should slip right out. Once you get it out and look at it, the whole thing will make sense. Do you know anybody with a spare cluster you could look at?
 
Out, had to un do the floor bolts for the column, pressed down on the column (hard) just wiggled out......what a colossal PIA:blob:.......thanks guys
