Actual cars empty weight?
Or are we doing math? LMAO!
A gallon of gas weighs?
Ho many gallons?
You weight???

But that's the way to do it. You in it.
More info the better for the converterman!

Yup I know. With me in it 3575....
10 gallons fuel and could no take a picture of it with me in it....

I know of a Chevelle that that fear the 4 door and could not catch me until midway thru second...he broke out.

No want to make it but family plans and could not get away !!!
Figured out the Demon hesitation though so she stays on...
Put wiper bushings in today...What the hell I am going street legal and inspecting it and plating it.I think I run street class in the summit series at Little River.
Hey do you still need help with yours I got that distributor...call me you got my number.

Cool! Plate it!

Been busy with work. Gonna try to get some stuff done tomorrow.

-Compression test (vacuum flutter)
-Go through the valves again (I know XE cams are noisy but I don't remember this much clatter)
-Time it and maybe swap distributor again depending on what goes on.
-Install new trans cooler lines (pinched one) and change the pan gasket.

-8-3/4 gasket is dripping a little, but not sure I'll get that far.
Need to check the fluid level-
What's the best way to check it on an 8-3/4?

With car level thru the fill plug on diff, fill it till it runs out of fill plug hole.
Your welcome to use my pro-form distributor .I am going to try and make Friday night test and tune at Little River.
Snuck the car over to Mickeys shop to weight it and wipers came in handy, it rained a little.

Thank Martin, does that dist have slots or is it like the Mallory with the little sqare slots and funky weights?

Got a late start, compression test is first on the list.

Got in a few runs and here is the beat run of the night for me:
I am in the right lane and number 27.(other lane was a chick in convertible mustang)

Still no tach but will get installed soon.

Ahhh, Little River--man, I used to go to that track all the time in the 90s. I wish I could go right now, although San Antonio would be better, Academy is likely cheaper and I suspect has more shade...unless they cleared all the trees.

Nice start TX... I'll guess 3 tenths improvement first pass, new converter. Really TX,you should hold a FABO pool, on one change parts improvement.

Nice Job TX! Make sure you post up the results with the new converter. I am in a different boat with a good converter and running on street tires. I would not be surprised if you picked up 3+ tenths in the first 60 feet.

Running pretty damn good never the less!
Thanks Chuck !

Trees are still there but do not let you TNT in 1/4 mile no more.A military guy crashed and kill himself in a mustang...so 1/8 mile period,it is scary stopping....

The improvement is in timing and mainly new Proform 650 dp,the Demon was too much for my motor.
Convertor is next,I am trying one thing at a time !!!

My car was an unfinished project and the PO did everything close too right but did not put a stall convertor and my power-band is 2500-5500.
My car is a dog off the line and I go around the water box,it only spins half a tire and that from some water I pick up....
I hopeful find time to install this week and get to the track Saturday and have some more fun...maybe slower if it melts the tires at the start LOL...

The 11" convertor is out and 9 1/2 convertor is in,now to button her up in the morning.
Tropical Bill is making it way our way and hope it is good weather by the weekend.

Ouch...that sucks, but did the big end of the track start falling apart? Chris Shortridge in his '70s longbed Chevy pickup used to run low 8s out there pretty routinely. Do you know if "Nitrous Nelson" is out there anymore? He used to clean up pretty well on bracket nights with a beat up old Malibu...think it had a nearly stock 305 or 307 in it. I heard the dude running the lights (Stan, I think) died here a couple years ago...sad--dude was cool to just about everyone there.

Cool!!!
How long did it take?

Still think we can do my front seal in 45 min?
Trans lost 1 qt since you were here...tired of puddles and kitty litter.

Not to long while conducting regular business at the shop and waiting for the parts store to deliver some Type F fluid....
Ty behind close doors, no problem yours is cake !!!
Yours is a 727 also with no trans shield or driveshaft loop !!!
Well, got a short break on the rain and took her for a short spin today.
What a difference, she revs up in first and maintains it thru 2nd and 3rd.
I did not look at the tach but she is a bullet out of the hole.
Can not wait to see what she runs !!!
Will see weather permitting...this Friday night or Saturday at SAR
