Thing? above the dimmer switch??

I'm old enough to remember when trucks had those signal arms. My Dad had at least one (Model AA dump truck) that had one. You pulled a chain / string inside to run it up. You ran it as far up as it'd go for "right" straight out for "left" and "sorta out" for stop, slow, danger. I doubt, LMAO that they were used all that much. Hell people don't signal TODAY

Our old truck. This was taken long about 52--53. On the left is my Gramps who was about 53 then, much younger than I am today. Dad on the far right, both of them gone. So is my little sister, gone with brain cancer in her early 50's. The reason I look so DARN unhappy is I just got a 'pankin. Look at the headlights. I had broken one of them out with my toy hammer trying to figure out how they work!!!!

The thing had no key, you twisted two wires together to run it. Most of the floorboards were gone, and it scared me to death, thinking I was gonna fall through. The few times we drove it after dark, you could see sparks and so on from the leaky exhaust. These had wooden floorboards. No heater.
