I purchased a 1969 393 Road Runner, the car came up from Texas in 1992 and sat in a dairy barn until four weeks ago the body is mint but needs some attention to the interior. The 383 is in pieces but under the hood is a 1970 440 Six Pak complete from intake to pan.
The deal came with a ton of extra parts such as doors, hoods, trunk lid, 9 1/4 rear end, dash pad, 150 mph speedo and much more, the guy that owned it must have been thinking he had to collect spare parts in case he ran into something . My first job is to rebuild the 383 which is going back into the car and then the 440 which is going on my run stand for a conversation piece for now, this winter I will do the cars interior.
Dang that car is twice as big as my Swinger!

I'd trade my dart for a road runner without even thinking. I love those.

i've had more than a few road chickens over the years and always loved them. to me they were the standard for the muscle car, barebones, good power, well engineered mopars, affordable when new.
yes kinds big cars compared to our A bodies. I miss them/

I had a runner in 1979. It was a nice car but by its nature stripped, no frills and not fun to drive. No refieniment at all. IMO POS. Just Saying. MT O and I paid 450.00 for it, California car no rust.

And the Torquflite is RARE. Most opted for 4 speed that was standard. MT

not fun to drive???? you wouldn't think a ten year old car would have been that clapped out!!? I guess we all have our preferences.. give me a 383 4 speed manual steering runner and open county roads!!

Nice catch Kenny!! Would this Moparfest be too soon to see both the Dart and RR out?? That Dart is fn impeccable too!

Congratulations  A cool Mopar has a good home now :color:

Nice find!
A friend of mine had a 68 in high school red with black stripes. 383 4 speed, was a pretty cool car. I would love to have a road runner, doesn't matter witch year 68-70.

in 1987 i bought air grabber 383 auto 70 roadrunner vitamin c color out of a back yard for $200 it sat at my old HS auto shop while i was at service school and assignment to west coast in the usmc for 2 years before the school had it towed to the local junk yard. My old autoshop teacher was supposed to get it running driving for me while i was away.... very sad...

You Sir are a weiner:DNice save from a real true friend.Yeahh Kenny! Now whatabout that 440?I have a 68 that needs a BB

I had two Mopars at that time, the runner and a 71 challenger . maybe that's the reason I did not like the 'runner. Challanger was a lot more refined IMO. MT

maybe this year while your sneaking around my car at moparfest I'll be sneaking around your garage eh LOL beauty find their Kenny !
