New Garage / Winter Home

-
I should end up at around 90 in it when it's finished. The walls have 1.5 inches of pink foam and 6 inches of pink Fiberglass with 8 inches of blown in insulation in the ceiling. I bought a used heat pump central air unit with propane backup for heat and air. We plan on living in it on the weekends during the winter.

:prayer: Very nice! I gotta ask....how do you 'drive' a well? Beat a well casing into the ground, and then clean it out? That's awesome that you can get good water that shallow!

Lumber showed up today, they are setting posts tomorrow. I picked up the toilet and bathroom sink / vanity tonight, my local Lowes was out of the shower kit that I need so I have to go to another Lowes tomorrow to pick it up.

gee whiz... isnt that 1st garage big enough?

Holy crap, must be nice to have that kinda space.

My entire lot, house, back yard and garage included is 35x70
My garage is 16x20

JD, you can buy a drive point for the well. A drive point is a 1 1/4 npt pipe with a point and screened open sides that you screw couplings and galvanized pipe sections on to. I bought a short pipe and a cap to screw on top because as you drive the pipe you will ruin the threads on the top pipe. If you go to utube and search for driving a shallow well you can see how it's done. When you first start pumping it looks like chocolate milk but clears up quickly. I had like $120 - $130 in driving the well and $270 for a pump tank set up that was ready to plug in.

I'll look it up. Thanks for explaining it. As deep as people have to go to get water where I live, I'd have never in a million year dreamed you could do something like you can do wherever you live.....and for so cheap!

So there's you and then there's the rest of us. You suck, but congrats on your cool new garage !

I haven't updated this for a while but the heating and air conditioning are up and running fine. I'm setting up a small living room inside with a 55" tv and surround sound system with a few recliners and a couch.

I added a backyard buddy and a new Mopar project to the collection and I have been adding cabinets and work benches when they are on sale. The current project is insulating the old side of the garage where I can do the dirty work like sandblasting and painting. I also acquired a rotisserie as partial trade on a car I sold. Now it's time to master the retirement thing so I have time to enjoy my new playground.
