Anybody can rent a 'Hot Chick' anytime.
I would pay to have a ride in a wing car at speed on a high banked oval.
 
They worked pretty damn good on the track for being so damn ugly.
 
Whether you like the car or not if you don't respect its place in Automotive history then you might be in the wrong hobby.I would proudly drive that anywhere.
 
Nice share and read, thanks! 0.28 drag coefficient, now THAT'S beautiful! According to the story the car was hunkering down to the highway at 170 mph, how awesome is that???

The story mentions Tom at Rocket Restorations, I met him at his shop while shopping for a motor, nice guy straight shooter. He's my fallback plan if I run into something I don't think I can tackle with my duster.

Is it really a barn find when the guy bought it new and drove it all over the country?
How many guys on here have a car they bought new 45 years ago?

That car is owned by a proud American veteran, a hero in fact.
It is an important piece of history.
Nobody needs to like the styling of the car or added paint work, but it needs to be appreciated for what it represents.
If you can't see that, then you need to open your eyes a bit further........
 
Just like you're "permitted" to have an opinion about the daytona and type it into this forum. I'm allowed to have a opinion of you and type it into this forum. I've seen you be rude to other members without them saying something rude to you first, as far as I'm concerned and per the ole interweb unwritten rules that makes you fair game to be rude too. Sorry crackedback for quoting the guy again.
