My MSD distributor is locked out at 35*. I have not had any problems so far. I think I am going to raise it up a degree or 2 next time at the track.

What compression are you running? I'm running over 12.5:1 and a stock starter, though it would struggle a little.
Did a compression test and its only at 180-185 psi.
