wondering about cam and torque converter combo

i ve got a 72 demon, 355s, hughes 3000 torque converter,318 with ported 302s, 284/484 cam, it stalls at 2900 and takes off fairly good, i think? cant get a 2nd opinion, i live in a small town, and im the only classic mopar in town! was wondering what would happen if i put in a different cam for more low end take off while keeping same torque converter? or should i be content with what i have. right now it squeals the tires for 15-20 feet, must admit i would like to smoke them for a good distance.strictly street cruiser, no drag strip.thanks:coffee2:
