to stroke or not to stroke?

my 383 loves the big bore short stroke, can't wait for the new trickflow head to replace the full port big valve 915's. a little more cam and gear and I'll spin it to 7500/8000.
that's we built it for. I may some day build a nonstroked 440. the barn is full of usable bigblock cores and 1 La 360 core. I never built a smallblock.

We built this 427 inch SB Mopar a while back. It went into a Valiant that really could haul the mail. 150+ mph at Portland International on pump gas and the guy drove it to work.

Makes me a little sad that a lot of valid points have gone by the wayside as this thread has turned into a cluster "F".

I have learned something though.....The fact that I don't have a car now, I'm unemployed, never worked for a machine shop, and I'm old school, lets me know how out of touch I am in the "modern" world of drag racing/hot rodding.

I'm glad to know that 40+ years of doing and observing, and a 143 IQ, are outdated concepts these days.....And I do apologize to the 496 members that have thanked me since I've been a member here.....

I wouldn't post any content on this thread if you paid me.....Love you guys. :D

143 iq , how do you put up with us maroons ? :)

I tested in my 30's because of a ongoing argument with the wife.....I'm sure 20yrs of further smoking & alcohol have taken some toll...lol.

I can only credit my granddad & great granddad on my fathers side for it. Both were engineers and my GGD had many patents in the late 1800's/early 1900's.

Point I was making is, while I might not be the most "social" person, I do seem to have a knack for figuring out problems & understanding basic theory's.

Oh, and hey to you Jerry . I hope the new mods on the Dart get worked out.

So the non stroker still has the besttest time posted , right ???

Numerous posts deleted.

Guys, please. This argument, the name calling, insults, etc, stops now.

My next move is to start handing out bans.

Thank you....

Even though Mad as I was throwing a fit at me, I don't understand why when I agreed with him, like in that door know post.

A strong high torque engine (stroker) gets you off the line quicker because there's more energy twisting the knob. Also more HP because of the added torque.

Since a dyno shows how much torque an engine makes the math that the computer uses from the torque shows more HP.

This is why strikers are so well like for the street OR the strip.
Ether way you build it, have fun with it.
