My Welder

I cut a circular hole in the side of my 220 volt harbor freight mig welder and installed a high flow fan that blows from the outside thru the wall of the welder directly on the transformer. The hot air then exits all the existing vent louvers all over welder. I run flux core wire exclusively.

The fan = 110 volt about 230 cfm.I It is a mechatronics UF15KM. This type of fan makes good pressure too. It increased the duty cycle considerably. I can run the hell out of my mig and have been running it hard for several years.

This is nothing like the little rotating turd that the factory installs to cool the transformer but you can power the new fan off the feed to the factory fan. mechatronics makes 220 volt fans of the same size so if you have a 220 volt welder, I suggest you check the volts at the factory fan and order the correct voltage.

The only reason I run a 110 v fan is bc I already had it.
