2.94:1 gearset

A car with lots of low end torque such as big inch big block,2.94 can be a good compromise. It can give you a nice cruise speed. I've run them in cars from Slant Six to 472 Hemi's.Now for drag racing, not the best. My slant car with a 25'' rear tire, shifting at 5200 would go thru the traps in second gear(automatic). The Hemi Car had 3.91's and was a tire fryer. We switched to 2.94 just to see and it did remove some power at the bottom using a 28'' tire also with a automatic.Top end was unlimited and a bit scary in a 64 Savoy with drum brakes. I guess you have to see what the intent use of the car is going to be.For me street driving, 3 miles in any direction the speed limits are 65-75 mph and the 2.94 was nice for running at those speeds.Usually adding about a +10 mph to keep up with traffic. Those are just my findings that worked for me.
