GaryS, that's a nice read, thanks for sharing. One thing our instructor mentioned was the building of your confidence, the instructor in your ear is trying to do that without you getting too cocky. He told us of a recent happening where the guy had bought quite a few laps, he did them better and better, then his laps were up and he was finished....but his father gave him his laps. Feeling like a seasoned pro, the guy took off and 1 1/2 laps in, he stacked it up against the wall. When the instructors talked to him after the crash, he admitted he was trying to flat foot the gas all the way around the track. They did a pretty good job explaining how "110 percent" is good in sports for effort, but if applied to a racecar, doesn't work, pushes the car beyond it's limits.
