Chicago/Milwaukee area A Body owners?

It's the original old, often ridiculed, 340 Capt.

I got me one o' dem!
Never had a lick of trouble running a 4-speed/3.91 340 with 650 DP with it. Coming off a redlight at 2500 always seemed kinda fun to me!
This time around, gonna give the new (to me) AirGap RPM a try...with a TQ on top if I can make the choke thing work.

Yeah, I saw your post, but didn't have anything to add. Luckily I don't have ringing in my ear, just loss from playing loud music when I was younger... Well, I still do that now...

Hopefully your ringing will go away...

Ya, like you I'm ok with it, it works well w my setup. Great throttle response off the line, pulls hard throughout the rpm range etc. I'll give the air gap a shot if/when I get around to a stroker rebuild. But with twin daughters starting college in s few years, I'm affraid I am gonna have to be happy with my current setup lol.
Be well
Pat

Seeing as we seem to have a lot of people in this area, how would you guys feel about starting a FABO Midwest Facebook page? It would give us all a more instant way to put out info for shows/get togethers/crys for help/cars or parts spotted/for sale and so on and so forth. It would take a few people to volunteer as moderators and such to keep things organized and proper, but I think it would help all the locals out. Let me know what you guys think.

Well, I'm not on FB and really don't need another website to monitor. What I had in mind was if there was enough interest and head-count here on FABO, was to use this section (Mid-West) to monitor and relay info through. We're all on here frequently anyway. Right now, I think there might be enough interested folks to start a small local group that can keep track of local events and interests and relay them to all interested parties. Anyone who might be up for this give a shout out, OK? I will volunteer to provide and feed info from my local area, and if a volunteer would do the same from each locale, we should have a pretty good local group going. All anyone would have to do is make a post if they hear about a local event or item of interest (drag strip event, swap meet, good shop, etc) and then whichever members decide they want to go can do so.
Count me in.

Youngdart, didn't mean to imply that if you want to start a FB page and run it you shouldn't.....only that I have avoided the FB snare all these years and really don't intend to get into it now. If you feel you want to do that, go for it! I just don't have time to check & monitor yet another website is all. I already spend too much time on line as it is......

Gotcha CaptainKirk, I figured id ask the majority first before I made one. The FB is more instant since its linked to most peoples smartphones now adays. Then if were out and about it would send you a notification telling you something new has been put up. If everyone thinks its a good idea then Ill start it up, if not and most people prefer to just use here then that's fine too. Just an idea.

You can set your account up here for email notification. Not sure if it's for all subscribed threads or just certain ones you choose, though. Have to verify from admin?

CaptainKirk Fox Lake Illinois this Sunday Mopar Club Event be there for lots of Mopars and good time! Should be at least 150 if not 200 cars there! I will be there for sure! Last month we had low turn out as weather was supposed to rain and it never did! At Bartlett HS. It was disappointing so we are expecting a big turn out here as all need to make up for last month! I don't care if it rains a little water never hurts my car as you do wash it to!

65 Cudalover!

There's an all maker's cruise in Palos Heights on Thur, July 18 between rt-83 and 127th st.

There was a good turn out last year...

Tinley Park has a cruise every Tues on Oak Park Ave south of 171st street to the train station... They had some good stuff there a couple of weeks ago, including a restored 70 Hemi Cuda...

YoungDart,

Sorry I just saw this post, we in the Midwest Mopar Club were at Fox Lake Park last Sunday and next month we will be in Belvedere both Saturday and Sunday. For a big event. I don't have the paper in front of me right now but you can look up our club website. Or I will post again this evening after I get home and find the posting. This one is always a big turn out. Sunday is the big day.
