Let's get this slant turbo project started. 71 Dart

Me too!

I found a 410 cfm vacuum carb in a pile of stuff in the garage. I am thinking about rebuilding it for practice, and to see how it runs with a 4bbl vac secondary carb before I add a turbo.
Just to see if it can handle it. It runs great with a 2 barrel and for the cost of parts it might be fun.

I have a Holley 650dp on mine now, and I am pretty sure it's over-carbed. I'll probably be looking for a 600 or something smaller in the future. I think there is not enough mixture-velocity with the larger sizes, for the boosters to do their job down in the venturis and that makes for a less-than-ideal situation, ultimately.

Speaking from a world of ignorance here, but other than experimentation, I am clueless as to how to "size" a carb for a boosted application, especially, when the boost levels are going to change dramatically (I HOPE!) It's like trying to stand a worm on-end. :banghead:
