I saw two nice street rods heading north through Kansas City and thought to myself "where are those guys going?". Now I know!

Got to Des Moines at 10am, checked in at the fair grounds. Ready for Friday to see how it goes, have never been to this show before.

I will be there all 3 days,( ill look you up Jaws) have been to this show every year it has been here , Heartland Nats. is a great show, I was trying to get some of the Minn. guys to come down from Mopars in the Park but haven't heard from any one.

We did Good Guys in KC in one day. I felt guilty because I was walking past $100k cars because there was just too much to take in!

Where's Sally??? LOL!!!

Every time I hear "Des Moines", I think of her...

She's the mother of my son's friend. After we moved to Chicago from Detroit, her son was supposed to come here for a couple of weeks in December to visit my son.

The flight got cancelled two different days from snow. The second time, it wasn't that bad, so I offered to drive half way and meet them and bring him back here. She insisted on driving the whole way herself. She's an overbearing parent and pretty nosey. She just had to come see our house and how we were living.

Well when they get close, I told her to call me for directions to get from the highway to my place, as she still wouldn't just meet me somewhere and transfer her son. She keeps insisting on doing it her way, so I told her to call me as soon as she crossed the IN/IL border.

So I'm waiting for her to call, then finally get a call from her in a panic saying "We're in Des Moines!!!"

I ask her what number mile marker she is at, and she didn't know. My exit is only 7 miles from the IN border, and she was less than 10 minutes inside of IL - THERE IS NO WAY THAT SHE COULD BE IN DES MOINES.

She wasn't even past our exit, but the signs on the highway do say I-80 to Des Moines, meaning that it will eventually go there - after you drive the two hours across IL (150 miles) and another 2 1/2 hours into Iowa...

Des Moines is 3 1/2 - 4 hours from us. There is no way she could be there in 10 minutes. It was the sign that said Des Moines that led her to believe that as she was too stubborn to call me like I said so I could give her directions...

So now, every time I see or hear about Des Moines, it reminds me of Sally on the phone, worried saying, "WE'RE IN DES MOINES"....

What a spastic...
