Hey FABO. I know that items are worth what someone is willing to pay. I'm pretty new to the Mopar hobby. There's been more than a few times that I've struggled to figure out what to price something. Any suggestions on how I can learn what to price things? Or is it something you just learn as it goes?

Thanks y'all

I would try doing a search in the proper for sale section, and/or then doing a google search for similar parts to see what others are asking/paying for them and go from there. Maybe give yourself a little bit of wiggling room for negotiating, but don't ask too much where you will scare your audience away..

If they are parts you would other wise keep, ask a price at which you would be happy to sell. If you are trying to get the stuff gone, make it a bargain.

I always look at the past threads for the things Im going to sell.. Say I needed to sell a pulley and I found a couple threads where people were asking $40 or $45 .. I always go a little lower to about say $35 or $30 but don't give it away whatever you do... I just need everything gone is the only reason I do that

parts that are in demand are easy to sell for a fair price. parts not so much needed, are worth less. some people want every last $$ possible, other people have parts they really don't need. and price parts to help people out. some people are in the parts business, and know what is a fair price. other people are just out to screw whoever they can. clear as MUD!?? LOL
or take feebay prices and divide by 2, take cl prices and generally divide by 5.
and if a sensitive guy, price something ridiculously high and get laughed at. but not in print. no comments in the " for sale" sections!!!
sorry no way to help!

I search around the net to get an idea. Since I really don't care about selling an item for every last dime it's worth, I sell the item a bit under an average I come across. I try to make it a fair and reasonable deal.

also keep in mind the code of the mopar Brotherhood
(section 429.B)
if a buyer is a member of FABO and his screen name starts with DIY or ends with mirage that person should get a 50% discount

Go to eBay. Click on the advanced search tab. Put in the name of the part you're looking to sell, and put a check mark in "SOLD". It will show you exactly what similar parts have sold for recently. I'm not saying you have to sell there, but it gives you a real idea what your parts are worth in a real world auction.

As you asked this is one of those things that you just need to get started on.
I suggest you start by posting a few items you have, ask what they might be worth and you'll get some feedback to get you off to a good start.
Prices can vary by well over 100% due to condition and demand.
