Dump some Blue Devil in it.

Pistons in the pic look to be different as well. After the machinist welds the crack up you might wanna have him look into it....Lol

I call that Toast! Dish pistons.....Was that a stroker that that got hit too hard with some "giggle" juice?

Dude, Unless that is the matching number engine block for your car, I would dump it.

That blows.

Id like to know the story on this engine. Pistons look nice and new, but rust in the lifter valley?

I had a 340 given to me cracked in the same place. I'm not sure why I took it. Figured someone may want it to make something out of.

It can be fixed and it will run, only in the realm of a trailer Queen, you will not be able to lean on it, take it for a cross country ride. It will cost money.

As already stated, find another block and swap the internals.

Yep it was 340/416 storker motor
I do have a 318 block that i may try something with????
No juice . If I have to put out the money to have a block done I will.
Now will all my stuff from this engine fit in a 318 block? Just asking .

No, 340 is bigger bore than the teen. Get another 340 block and go from there.

Are those lifter bores bushed?

Was it magged and sonic checked ? How many miles? When did it let loose?

Make a coffee table out of the cracked block!

There is a machine shop here in town that says they can fix crack in heads & blocks.
So I am going to see if they can fix it. An if they can fix it I will use it. Over the new block.
Yep I do have more pics of my block
If they can fix my block I may sale the new block

thats crazy man. its a cracked block. you know its cracked once. the fix will NEVER be as strong as before the crack. its gonna let go again. I would find out why it cracked and take preventative measures with the new block you already have.
