SRT-4 2.4 turbo swap into an early A-Body?

I feel compelled to do this swap at some point now that you have decided against it lol. I understand your choice completely, SBMs are what these cars came with and you can make these cars super fast with that big displacement/weight ratio. The engine weight is an issue though and using a mildly tuned SRT-4 engine would be sweet, 300 some lbs. off the front lol.

One question not sure if it was brought up but what about the Caliber SRT-4 engines? Are they still based off the older 2.4 engine in the Neons? Also those cars definitely weighed more than the Neon-based ones being a rather large hatchback, they came with 300 HP from the factory and are pretty dang fast if also ugly.

Again, SBM wasn't my first option, a deal was just came in at the right moment and I had to take it. I'm also worried about the iron headed, supercharged sb's weight going into the front of the car. Seems like a boat anchor.

Though, doing research, I don't think the engine would take 300 lbs off the front. For example, my 273 weighs about 525-550 lbs. A 2.4L engine alone weighs about 340 lbs (SRT4 forums). So, it's 200 lbs lighter... Then factor in the turbo manifold, turbo, tubing, intercooler, and misc components and you may be 100 lbs lighter. Although, I'm not disagreeing that a 100 lb weight loss on the front is a pretty big deal, especially for our A-bodies. Again, I'm still not opposed to the 2.4, I just didn't want it for my Dart as I wanted in a state where I can drive it now. If I get another project, it will most likely be an early-A. A lighter, smaller platform would suite the engine better IMO. Depending on cost, tools, and fabrication it will definitely be considered, again.
