Had a great time at Carlisle

went to carlisle wearing my FABO tee shirt. i didn't meet a single person who recognized my shirt!! i was hoping that there would have been a FABO "tent" or "area" or something but i didn't see any. was there a FABO site and did i miss it?

my wife and i walked all around the vendors and the prices seemed very reasonable to me. i bought a header panel with two partial grill inserts for a 68 cuda fastback "parts car" that i bought off of FABO a few years ago and only gave $125.00 for everything which i thought was a decent price. similar parts on ebay have been selling for $250 plus. i really didn't need the grill inserts and figured i'd just sell them to off-set the cost of the header. after buying this part i found another similar header panel in the next vendor row for only $75.00! as expected, there were hundreds and hundreds of mopar body, interior, engine and drive line parts for A bodies, B bodies and C bodies. and the cars were beyond amazing. at least 90% of the cars there were fully restored and included every A,B, and C body you could imagine. there were two buildings where the "six figure cars" were - one with just TA challengers and AAR cudas and the other one with "one of a kind" cars.

my wife and i got to the fairgrounds at about 12 noon and walked around till 6 p.m. we were too tired to stay longer. we got something to eat at the main food building rested for a spell and then left.

i hadn't been to carlisle for a number of years and had forgotten just how great that show is for rabid mopar fans. i didn't take either of my cudas but i do think i'm going to drag my 68 to the mopar nationals in columbus, oh in late august.

it's hard to come back down to earth after something like the carlisle mopar show. old plymouths are just like being addicted to some kind of drug. you get a little bit and you just want more and more.....
I hear ya, I had mine on Saturday.
