Hi Gents,

I'm wondering if a rebuild kit exist for OEM master vacuum for a 1970 Plymouth duster with rear drum brakes and disc front brakes. It looks like my actual brake booster's diaphragm is bursted.

Thanks,

Nico from France.

I just rebuilt the booster on my 69 B-Cuda. I got all the parts from "Harmon Classic Brakes".
They have kits you can purchase. You will need to tell them what model booster it is , and who the manufacturer is. A factory service manual is a great help.
On my 69, their was 2 different sizes. Use silicone grease on all the o-rings, and all rubber parts. Use the vacuum form you car to help reassembly, as that was the hardest part, so it wouldnt leak. I used the factory service manual from a 68 B-Cuda, as my 69 did not have the info. I think 70, and up are different, than 69 and down. Mine was made buy Midland-Ross.
harmonclassicbrakes.com phone 1-818-787-7081. They are in California.

Hope this helps

Midland-Ross boosters are easier to take apart (V-clamp). If Harmon has the parts, that is great since very hard to find. Many here use Booster Dewey, but not cheap.

Can be confusing since they varied. I once tried swapping the rear plate from the booster for my 65 Newport to a 74 Dart booster. Both were M-R, same diameter and looked almost identical. I just needed the bolt pattern on my 65. But, didn't work since the piston hole was a different size (smaller, I recall) on the 74.

Most 64-72 K-H disk cars I have seen have the small diameter dual-diaphragm booster. That might be even harder to source parts.

If you don't care about original, there is a new booster/MC on ebay for $130. It uses a GM booster, but fits your Duster.

Yes the Midland-Ross Kit was around $230.00, with shipping, and a $50.00 core charge on the diaphram with the metal hub center. That is the part that is hard to get. The other diaphram is all rubber. The two sizes are (large) 7 1/2 in, and (small) 6 1/2 in. All other parts are the same. Mine was the 6 1/2 in one. George Greco @ Harmon Classic Brakes, is the man too talk too. You can't get them on weekends, cause they do swap-meets, and car shows.
