Hello,
I have purchased an A833 awhile ago and its been sitting on the workbench, I don't think I'm going to use it in my Duster and wondered what it is worth incase I decided to sell it. The date cast on it is 4-15-68 and I have the other stamped numbers in the housing, but I'm not sure if they really mean anything. It does have an 18 spline input shaft, all of the gears are clean no grooves or seems to be any wear, and the housing is great no broken ears. Oh it is for a B-body Thanks

1k to 2k depends on shape and if it has been messed with or not. If it has been slick shifted/ pro shifted it is nothing but a large bearing case, mainshaft and tailshaft and that means 400.00 tops.

I have the stamped codes from the trans.
8A 282522
PP833
2463
0300
Is there a way to tell if the trans was behind a Hemi?
Thanks..

8A282522 sounds like the partial VIN. Someone here could probably help better with chasing that down. I say a 18 spline is just that, value wise. Irrelevant if it was behind a hemi, unless the trans can be matched up to an existing Hemi car.

They sell for about 2k totally rebuilt from a pro. I haven herd of many selling for more than 1K that haven't been rebuilt the last one I looked at was $800

I've listed it on EBay, but if anyone has an interest in this trans just email me your offer.

As I understand they were behind 440's as well. Are you going auto in the Duster?

In the case you have not seen this....................

Very interested in this also if you don't mind me jumping in?
Does anyone know what are the numbers to look for and for what years the correspond with?
Thanks!

If it's a short tail that was originally fitted with that input shaft, it could have ONLY come from a SS car. That thing is worth a fortune to the right guy

If there is not 2 side by side to compare, how do we tell the short tail from long?
Length in inches I assume?

Thank you.
