I had that same recovery bottle on my 406 vega, and on my 406 gmc, had no problems w/ either one of them.. sounds like you got trapped air in the system maybe? when you fill the system, raise the front of the car off the ground, fill slowly , even start it and let it idle while topping off. I had to do that on the vega to stop it from trapping air, I put rear cooling-circulating lines on it coming back to the thermostat housing, that really helped !
