And I'm not going back in time to 1966 and buy a stock 57 Chev (my first car) just to prove a point.

This is my Farmall 100 which has a 4 speed gearbox NOT syncro into ANY gear. Know what? I can start this thing out in 2nd gear and double clutch it right into high. And it isn't all that difficult.
