I'm getting ready to reinstall the pushbutton shifter on my 1964 Barracuda. The actual buttons are really worn out. Does any one sell new buttons? I know it a long shot! I also wonder if anyone has any info on reconditioning the shifter unit itself? I believe the button are illuminated but my bulb is burned out. I'm thinking about converting to an LED bulb. Has anyone attempted that conversion? Thanks for any help.

heres a long shot. if you know someone that has a 3 D printer they could reproduces them, may be.

The plastic will probably clean up nicely and the surface can be buffed out and the lettering refilled with paint.

The aluminum sleeve is a different matter. I made some buttons for a '56 Plymouth and was able to find square brass tubing to cut new sleeves, but couldn't find square, thinwall, aluminum tubing to match the OEM look. However, you might be able to find round aluminum tubing that would match. I found the material I needed through a web search for metal tubing.

I have some old '64 A-body buttons, but they are likely to be as bad as yours.

The bulb is easy to replace, and the shifter should be okay if you clean with a vacuum and small brush. There are adjustments for the park lever shown in the factory service manual, but I've never had a problem with the shifter parts as they are surprisingly rugged.
