Hey guys just rebuilding my carter avs 4426 just wondering if the tall main jets are the primaries or secondarys ?

Primary, the metering rods drop inside them.

Good... that's where I put them thanks

dont for get the tall jet MUST go with the tall rod, 3 step, and the dome cap. DO NOT mix the flat top , short rod, short jet with the tall parts. also the jet does NOT have to be put in tight just snug will be fine. do NOT force the taking it out. if it does not come out easy put a torch to the jet then hit it with water. you have little chance to melt the casting. the aluminum will soak the heat so fast it wont melt the aluminum.

Thanks Moe for the tip. Another thing is my rebuild kit came with a new accelerator pump but I was not able to use it because the diameter was to big. So I tossed some oil on my old one and used it for now. I have to locate the correct pump. Any suggestions? Thanks

yes i think the A.V.S. had a diff dia acc pump. the right kit should have the right pump. any good carb spicalty shop should have just the pump. just search the internet.

TTC posted this thread "Edelbrock mid throttle problem" our friends have some great ideas there. all so check out my posts #11, #15, #16
