Has anyone used Safelite to have their windshield replaced? I got an online quote for ~$214, for my '71 Dart GT, which seems very reasonable. Unfortunately, the quote did not say if it included the windshield gasket. I contacted them via their online question area, but haven't heard back yet. Anyone have any experience?

Probably not. I have been looking for one for both my A's.

Never seen the seal included in an estimate before either.

Not on my A-body, but they replaced the windshield on my wife's 300 several years ago and the repair has not weathered well. Just recently, I noticed the vin tag under the windshield has disappeared (??) and seals in both top corners (right and left) are getting funky. I am not impressed, and really need to find one of their service centers here and see if we can get satisfaction.

Personally, I would never trust them with my Barracuda.

They put one in my 71 Scamp early this year and the seal did NOT come with it. Cost me right at $300 for the windshield and seal. So far so good, cannot complain about it. Good Luck.

Not a big fan of Safelite. I got a quote from them on my 98 Dakota for $350 for a windshield. I wound up getting a new windshield for $125 from a local glass/body shop place. I made a few more phone calls, and Safelite was about twice as much as everybody else I called.

X2 see what a local shop wants.
My 78 dodge truck was $150 at a local shop, safelite wanted about $350.

Be careful comparing prices as chinese ones are way cheaper. My insurance paid to get the OEM one back in our PTs and they always do great at it.

Yep! Never again, had my own seal and they cut part of the locking ring off and didn't even use any sealant, poured inside my car. Carried it back they didn't honor their warranty. Got the run around long story short carried it to a glass shop.
