Narrowed, Shaved, and Tucked 75 Dart bumper mod.

-
Thanks guys. Not much to the shaving of the bolts really. I just welded the brackets directly to the bumper, as they can be unbolted from the frame still. From there its just a matter of filling the holes.

Obviously this isn't for you if you have nice looking chrome. You will need to weld on them if you do even the simplest mod of just shaving the bumper bolts. So either plans to re-chrome, or painted bumpers are the next step for any of these modifications.

As for the mounts.... I didnt get many pictures, but Ill say this.

I used the stock mounts.
Tips on that.....

They are filled with oil! They also contain a spring.
Beyond that they are essentially two tube that slide. One inside the other.
I removed the oil by cutting the housing end off, then I was able to slide the mounts in and out.
Now that I basically had an adjustable mount, I placed the bumper inplace, mocked it up where I wanted it, bolted the mounts to the frame as usual, and then when I was happy with how far I pushed the bumper in, I welded the two tubes together so they wouldn't move.

During this I had the bump clamped to the mounts that were bolted to the frame. Once I was happy with final placement I welded the bumper to the mounts.

As for the fog light suggestion... Funny that's mentioned. Because when this guy came to me he said "I want them like yours" and I asked.... "Fog lights and all?" (Hoping that's not what he wanted)
He fortunately did NOT want the fog lights as well. I am happy that's the case since I am the only one around here with a mod like that to their A-body.

Glad were a few states apart, I'd hate to see fog lights become a common thing in A bodies.\\:D/
