I am very close to being ready to install my drivetrain in the Dart.
The cell will be around 15G and car will be a mostly weekend driven as it is too far to work everyday.
Was wondering on the selction between Aluminum and Plastic when it comes to buying.
I like the idea of Aluminum because of the strength and durability, but like the idea of the Plastic because of the cheap fuel and what it may do to the Aluminum tank on the inside.
All opinons are welcome,
Thanks,

I'd go with aluminum simply because plastic distorts. I've had both and the plastic cell collapsed and became concave on top. Aluminum looks good too.

Thanks,
Not really the amount of replies I was expecting to see, but 1 vote for each is better than none I guess.
Do they make an aluminum tank lined with something so the fuel won't eat away at the tank?
Or can you mount some sort of cover over the plastic tank not allowing it to really get deformed in the first place?
Just curious.
Thanks again,

I have had an aluminum cell in service since 1999 and it was used when I got it. I've never had a problem. I know there are coatings for steel tanks.

if your not going stock, you could get something a little more crash worthy

I guess the best thing so far sounds like aluminum.
To save all the corrosion, I can just pull it every winter and make sure it is cleaned out.
I will try to keep it mostly full with fresh gas everyweek and hope that will help keep it from getting to corroded inside.
Thanks,,

I have been looking at the RCI Aluminum Cells 220AS at Summit. Has the foam in it and comes with the 0-90 ohm sending unit. Anyone have input on this one or others?

Butch67 only reason I commented and asked is figured it would be of some help to you also. Don't want to seem as trying to hijack your thread.

I have never owned a plastic one. But I love my aluminum one. Every plastic one I have seen looks like it has been melted in a microwave after a very short time
