Yes, NOOO smog. LOL. I caught some grief for the cam I went with since it is a low compression motor. In the end every critic supported my reasoning. This is an awesome forum to be apart of! Thanks for all the compliments and so on. Few added pics of my enjoyment this summer.
I bought the car back in March of this year. Drove from SE South Dakota to Claremore Oklahoma for it. Had a flat cam when I got it and a 3 spd with OD. Can you say BORING!! So did a cam and head swap. Got rid of the slant six clutch for the $180 bang for your buck clutch from McLeod and traded the 3 spd for a true 4 spd gear slammer :) . So far everything is working great. Found out recently the car was originally bought in Cedar Rapids IA. Previous owner found the original build sheet and the paperwork for original owner and the salesman. Still waiting for those to come in the mail. Kinda cool just to have that tid bit of info even though it is not in original condition.
