Machine Work on bellhousing require Clutch Pivot relocation?

I will let you know I'm doing one for a friend because he had a 10" 1/2 bell housing and wants to go to a Hemi box in his 68 DART GTS and it has the bigger bearing retainer and that is going to wipe out the pivot bolt holes. I'm thinking just drill and tap new holes by bolting up the transmission with a release bearing on it and clutch fork see were the bracket is going to line up. It my require some welding to build up the area and machining it down so there is a nice flat surface to mount the bracket to and enough meat for the bolts to be tighten down good and tight.
