This car started life as a Dart GTS. It looked like it has had a rough life. I do not know when but it was converted to a racecar. Pretty poor conversion but worked for them. I bought the car for $800, Car has a rollcage, ladder bar mounts, tubs and subframe connectors. The whole front clip is gone. The floor, tubs, and quarters are rusted. Also discovered about 10 lbs. of bondo on the passenger side quarter where it hit a wall. Which would explain why the passenger side front frame is bent. Also found out the rear passenger frame is buckled. So I have already stripped just about everything out. I managed to pick up a used motor home 440, 340 K frame, tunnel ram with dual quad carbs and fiberglass fenders so far. Next to come is the floor, quarters and frame rails. I will more than likely order all of that from AMD. The guy who sold me the car has about 8 more A bodies including 3 darts.I will be pulling a hood for mock up and trunk to mock. The trunk and hood will more than likely be fiberglass when I am done. This car, in the end, is going to be a street legal drag car. I want to be able to cruise the weekends, go to local car shows and hit the track when I want. Here are a couple pictures in no particular order so you can laugh at it.

Well I've seen worse! Is it a 69 sporting 68 tail lights? You must have some awesome fab skills, I don't have the skills to save a car like that, but I am happy there are folks like you that can and do!

Welcome!

Definitely a lot of work ahead, but it can certainly be done. FABO is definitely the place for answers. The rear end of the car suggests 1967 to me (taillight lenses and backup lights in the bumper).

Looking at a few other Darts I may keep it a 69 or clone it to be a 68. I haven't completely decided yet.

Looks to me like you have your work cut out for you for quite som time ahead.

As Geo4K said; wish I had the skills needed to save a car in that state. I mean, if you dipped it in rust remover, it would disappear. :)

If this guy didn't put all this bondo on he probably could have shaved a few tenths of a second off in the quarter mile :burnout:

Instead of cutting the tubs to the quarters or pulling the quarters to the tub. He welded where they met and used as much bondo as possible to smooth it out.

Last picture is just the rad support sitting on my car. I need to fix a couple small dings and a bend but it'll work.
