I need either a vac pump or hydraulic assist brakes (my vac is only 7 in lbs with the 440) Any one use either? New territory for me.

Oh yeah I did add a vac can but only get one more good stop with it.

No way tried it, 440 in a 5k car,(se) disk on the arse. Need a good sucker or an alternative.

Thanks BS, That looks like what I need where do you get them?

You'd have to shop around. I just had that site bookmarked for info purposes. I'm not sure they do Mopar.

Bruce is spot-on. I put the HydraBoost on my Scout with discs all around. Stops that fat pig on a dime. I did put an adjustable prop valve in the rear circuit..

What did you use Rick? I was ready to hire a hooker every time I drove it to keep the vac up.

Rhoades lifters will also help increase your vacuum at idle...

Comp makes a vacume pump you can get it from summit I have one on my 67 barracuda now I have no fear because I have brakes all the time.

I got a setup based off of a GM diesel, put a corvette MC on it, plumbed it.. really east stuff. I bought the stuff off a guys project he lost interest in, pennies on the dollar. All stainless lines too. I'll find out who the mfr of the stuff is. I called them when i installed it and guy was real helpful, even though i didnt buy from him..

Convert to manual brakes. These cars are really so light they don't need power brakes.

Rusty's right on.

My Duster has manual disk brakes, my Challenger has power disk brakes. As soon as I feel like getting into the brake system on the Challenger, that booster will be gone and I'll be running manual. The factory power brakes are lame.

RMS had, last I looked, a hydroboost kit. Have heard of some folks using the parts from diesel pickepmups....

Nice.. Ben Drinkin .. Nice find.. ..

If the brakes are not right, adding a booster isn't the fix.

Unless the cam isn't allowing enough vacuum signal. Then yes, a booster is a fix.

My car is right at the threshold, 13 inches, and my power brakes don't like it. They work, but not as well as they should, I am ditching the booster and going manual.

I have 6" of vacuum in my 70 'Cuda. I had the booster rebuilt and went to Police/Taxi rotors in the front and Dr Diffs econo rear disc kit while restoring the car. The brakes work way better than stock and have excellent power assist.

With the / everything was great that is what I am having a problem grasping. All ines, calipers, booster, master are new and bleed. Even checked the brake rod a few times for adjustment.

Yes, you are correct, I missed the point of the question. I was referring to adding a power booster to a non power car to solve a brake problem. Low vacuum is a problem with a power assist car. Id say it would be easier to just convert to full manual.
