Sorry, to disagree with you, but, comparing he "prowess" to the ax grinders in the other "super groups" of the time, he languishes at the low end of the list. If you read his biography, he admits it, himself. He was never a strong lead guitarist. He made up for it by playing loud and being a showman. To his credit, admittedly, he pulled it off.
