Hey Guys ,

I replaced the 10" rear drums on my 68 Cuda with 11 " Drums from a B Body.Used Moser Axles to get 4.5 BC. and have a proper rear proportioning valve as well. All is well except for the e-brake cables . Can I use the original style brake cables the car came with or do I need different ones? The old cables are long gone as they were rusted out.

I checked the forums here but nobody has addressed this issue. (I may have searched them incorrectly as well)

Can anyone help me with this? Maybe someone who has done a Hemi conversion and is using a Dana 60 has run into this problem

Thanks for any help guys!!

I am learning that e brake cables on a mopar is a guessing game at best. I am in the middle of dealing with either wrong packaging or lack of know how on the part of the retailer. 2 pieces of rope and a stick would work better. Good luck.

Usually a 9/16 box end will slide up over the retainer and depress the ears so you can remove the cables from the backing plate. You may have to wiggle it a little. Because the difference in the brake dimensions is so slight usually only a small cable adjustment is all that is needed when using the originals for the car.
