If it helps, I'm sure the 408 would out perform the 5.7 any day. I have a 5.7 in a 67 dart, that is all stock except a comp 268 cam and springs. It drives great, I can take it just about anywhere... Mine is FAST controlled. I currently run a 727 and 3000 stall, but plan to switch to a OD next year. My car weighs 3400 lbs, and has 3.73 gears. Up here in the thin air of denver I put 337HP/356TQ down on a Dyno at this Alt, and run a very consistent 13.26 @104. Lower altitude I'm sure I'd pick up 4-5/10 real quick, not bad for a stock motor and cam... Joe

I have decided to go with the 5.7. After much research, I'm going to do an eagle head/intake swap and change the cam. I'm sure this will put me over the 400hp at the crank. I'm going to reuse my TKO-500 and the MS3X. Also plan on getting a hemi deny k-member.
