Man i am not good at this ! Soory 8 " american racing wheels 15's with 255/60/r15 tires will they fit 67 barracuda notchback ok?

Trying to see if 255/60/r15 on 8 " wheels 4 1/2 " back spacing will fit my a body 67 barracuda

Redfastback, you're car sits exactly the way I would like my '67 notchback to sit - more sportscar than drag racer. What front wheel/tire combo are you running?

My concern is the front wheel/tire clearance. I have 205/70-14's on now (don't remember backspacing) & they just rub the subframe at full left lock. I would like to run 15x7's, but it doesn't look possible. Going bigger in any direction seems like it will hit somewhere. Cheers.

Based on my personal experience:

15 x 8-1/2 with 4-7/8" back space Centerlines w/ 255-60 x 15 fit on my 68 FB but required 5/16" wheel spacers to avoid the leaf spring. One side just kissed the spring w/o spacers and the other side had very minimal clearance. These were small bolt pattern wheels. Converting to narrowed c-body axles (LBP) in the 8-3/4" rear added 3/8" to the track on each side. (the wheels got pushed away from the springs by 3/8") In my opinion, the 255-60 x 15 tires looked really good on the cuda.

I have since converted to 15 x 7 steel wheels (4-1/4" B.S. on all factory 7" wheels) on all four corners with 215-60 x 15 tires. Of course no problem in the rear but the left front scrapes the front lower wheel opening lip but only when backing up with the wheel turned. This is with 73-76 A body discs and Moog offset bushings in the upper control arms to get more caster. I'd have to say the increased caster pushed the wheel forward in the wheel wells a little and the 73-76 discs also increase the front track. Your results may vary. All cars are different and don't be surprised to find clearance issues on one side but not the other. Mopar Performance has stated that cars may vary up to 1/2" from side to side.

Back to the original question I would say that the 255's would fit with your combo.

15x7 front 15x8 back on my 68.

My fronts are 15x7 factory cop wheels with 4.25"BS. The tires are 215/60/15 BFG TA. No rubbing at all.
