is it just me?

I like the solution that Mopars Unlimited Tacoma came up with for a 2 day show - newer stuff on Saturday, old stuff on Sunday, 2 day swap meet.

I have been seeing new modified cars recently that have the modifications to handling, traction and power, even some great custom paint jobs - these guys are really doing just what folks did to 50s to 70s cars when they were relatively new. Lighten up on these guys, some of their cars are 10 years old now. I find myself having to make some adjustments in my thinking when some hot rodded Neons, Chrysler Shelby cars, etc. are now 20 - 30years old. I'll give them one thing - many of these guys drive their cars all the time - which is more than I can say for some of the old car trailer queens. I swear if I wrote down the odometer reading on some of these rigs and compared them year to year they would roll up 20 miles or less. Yeah there are new car folks like this too, but I bet the ratio of driven cars is way higher for them than us.

When I go to shows I never vote for stock cars that are newer, but I sure give the modifieds a look over and reward the guys who really are hot rodding their rides.
